…it’s been some time coming. After subjecting friends and colleagues to one too many drunken pub-time rants, I’ve decided to finally move with the times (and general consensus) and start writing my own blog.
I’ll be perfectly honest with you: Blogs have always left me feeling a little unsettled. (Incidentally, you’ll come to realise that a lot of things leave me feeling a little unsettled. But we’ll get to that later…)
I don’t for one moment assume any of you give a fuck what my thoughts are on the things I write about. You’ll probably disagree with most of the lingual-bile I come out with. (And you’d most probably be right.) I just need an outlet. And here it is. Humour me.
So here I am: Embittered freelance music journalist. Currently whoring herself wherever they’ll have her.
What are my thoughts on journalism? In the words of Ferris Bueller:
‘Isms in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an “ism”, he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon: ‘I don’t believe in The Beatles, I just believe in me’. Good point there. After all, he was the walrus. I could be the walrus – I’d still have to bum rides off people.’
I always think it’s neat to end with The Beatles. You can’t argue with good hair and nifty shoes.
